• Much Loved

“Much Loved” is an exhibition that celebrates moments of tenderness connecting human beings, whether through friendship, family bonds, or love. To deepen her exploration of intimate relationships, Alma de Beir invited individuals to share photographs capturing connections that hold special meaning to them. These images, rich with gestures of affection and closeness, became the inspiration for a series of watercolors where the subjects are transported into sci-fi-inspired worlds.

In this series, humanoid figures reimagine humanity, transcending individual faces, stories, and particularities. Through these pairs, first photographed and then transformed into paintings, the artist envisions their vulnerabilities, strengths, and the elements surrounding them on distant, imaginary planets. These works weave a dialogue between intimacy and imagination, offering a meditation on the universal nature of human relationships.
